Updated: Jun 27, 2024

Have you thought about what happens to your TikTok account after you pass away? Planning your digital legacy is important, and with Life Vault, you can ensure your wishes are documented and respected. Here's what you need to know about TikTok accounts after death:

1. No Specific Memorialization Policy

  • Current Status: As of now, TikTok does not have a specific policy for memorializing accounts like some other social media platforms.

  • Account Remains Active: Unless actions are taken by your family or executors, the account remains active as it was before your death.

2. Account Deletion

  • Contact TikTok Support: Family members or executors can contact TikTok support to request the removal of the account.

  • Required Documentation: Typically, proof of death and verification of relationship may be required to process such requests.

3. Managing Digital Legacy

  • Pre-plan with Life Vault: You can record your wishes regarding your TikTok account and other digital assets in Life Vault.

  • Executor Access: Ensure your executors or trusted contacts have access to this information so they can act according to your preferences.

With Life Vault, you can securely store instructions on what should happen to all your social media accounts and digital assets, providing peace of mind for you and your loved ones.
